Death by Die?
QIC: Fender
Date: 10/5/2020
PAX: Drama Queen, Singing Cowboy, Schneider, Sassy, Suede, Schultzy, Snake Eyes, Fender.
Sometimes life will work in your favor and give you a break, but usually it just kicks you in the teeth. From there you either face the crap and become better or run away. I’m proud to say, even though there was lots of mumble chatter about aborting the workout, every man stuck it out. In fact, collectively, we knocked out 1,216 burpees with tons of time to spare for more unforgiving brutality.
So in honor of fearlessly facing the unknown, YHC was thinking it would be fun to play a game and let fate decide the outcome of our beatdown this morning. This is how it went down:
Warm-o-Rama
- arm swirlies forward x 10 ic
- arm swirlies backward x 10 ic
- overhead clap x 10 ic
- seal clap x 10 ic
- ssh x 50 ic
The Thang
- Each pax wrote down their name and favorite exercise on a slab of cardboard for reference. This is the list:
- Drama Queen – Snow Angels
- Singing Cowboy – Penguin Crunches
- Schneider – Merkins
- Sassy – American Hammer
- Suede – Burpees (this made me laugh, you’ll see why momentarily)
- Schultzy – Squats
- Snake Eyes – Absolutionists
- Now for the rules:
- Round 1
- One at a time, each pax rolls the die and tries to predict the number it will land on. If they succeed, we get to do the exercise they wrote on the list. If they fail we do 10 delicious burpees!
- Round 1 provided us with 60 burpees and 10 Schultzy squats
- Round 2
- One at a time each pax rolls die and tries to predict two numbers it will land on. Success means their exercise of choice, failure means 10 burpees.
- Round 2 provided us with 50 burpees, 10 more Schultzy squats, and 5 Snake Eyes Absolutionists
- Round 3
- One at a time each pax rolls die and tries to predict 3 sides of the die. 50/50 chances at this point. Otherwise, same rules.
- Round 3 provided us with 41 burpees (one of which provided by the successful roll of Suede who indicated that burpees were his favorite exercise), 25 Sassy American Hammers, and 10 ic Singing Cowboy Penguin Crunches.
- Round 4
- Each pax led one round of their excercise listed above.
- Round 1
Mary
- Broga round:
- sun salutations (pax noted that this was just a stretchy and slow version of a burpee, sun salutation contains a couple pushups, plank, squat, downward dog, and the dive bomber)
- Raised and held legs to sky then held knees to nose alternating between. Did this on both sides.
- Right hand and left hand lunge twists
- Also added some warrior 1, 2, and reverse
- We also named a stretch that YHC did not have a name for. The pax dubbed it the Fender Bender. One pax cracked under the pressure with a backblast quite different than this one and renamed that moment the $#!+er Fender Bender.
- A little happy baby with some side stretching
- LBC x 50 ic
- Heels to Heaven x 50 ic
COT
- YHC took us out with these prayers:
- Fallen F3 officer and his fallen comrades and their families and all the noble protectors of our society.
- Goofy’s wife and family and others lost from this pandemic
- Sourmash and Shneider’s Mom’s lab results.
- Our country and leaders
It was an honor to be with these fine men today. Thanks for the keys Sassy and Snake Eyes.

Fender, what in the world is wrong with you???
Fender
I ask myself that question on a daily basis.

If YHC is understanding the rules correctly, we need to take Schultzy to the Vegas craps tables….
And YHC is stealing this workout. Tclaps, Fender!

Indeed, Schultzy has some serious dice technique.
This beatdown is free for the taking. Feel free to make it worse.
