YHC’s Qs at Urban Assault seem to coincide with inclement weather. This morning appeared to be headed to more of the same when YHC was woken by the thunderboomer at 0330. Unable to sleep afterwards, YHC had time to make two game plans for this morning depending on the weather. Both plans involved the bricks.
Eight punctual pax joined YHC at the appointed time of 0530 and were instructed to pick up a pair of bricks from the back of the Pilot on their way to the launch circle. YHC recited the mission statement and the four leadership characteristics from the F3 Leadership manual: Vision, Articulation, Persuasion, and Exhortation (VAPE). The administrative aspects accounted for, we had a little warmarama.
Warmarama:
SSHs, Cherry Pies, Abe Vigodas, and Whirlies (with what someone called the “bird poop catcher pose” (eyes to the sky, arms outstretched).
The Thang:
(Razzie arrived at this point)
Mosey to the Longbranch Trail bridge with your pair of bricks.
- South side of bridge: Divebombers x 5 (on your bricks) each time you visit this side of the bridge.
- Mosey to North side of bridge (with bricks).
- North side of the bridge: Add an exercise from the weinkes in YHC’s pocket and repeat all previously repeated exercises & reps on each trip to this side of the bridge. Most exercises involved usage of the bricks.
- Merkins x 5
- Flight Attendants x 10
- Curl + Press combo x 15
- 180-degree squat jumps x 20
- Should tap + plank jack combo x 25
- Squats x 30
- Cobra Humpers x 35
- American Hammers x 40
- Lunges x 45
- Burpees x 50
With time short, we moseyed home for CoT.
Announcements:
- Drip has the double-Q at SuperMax and Alcatraz.
- Van Gogh has the Q at IS (site-Q emeritus coming home). VG HCed for 30 minutes of SuperMax to give himself plenty of time to make it from Tennessee to Hanes Park.
- The pre-order for F3 shirts for Alcatraz and SuperMax closes soon.
CoT:
- $5 Footlong shared about the death of a friend’s (Matt) wife.
- Van Gogh shared about the death of Marie Booth, the sister of his friend Laura from high school.
YHC took us out repeating the leadership principles from the F3 Leadership manual and asking for comfort from the SkyQ from all of those suffering.
Moleskin:
- YHC unknowingly put us straight in the path of some OGs on the Longbranch Trail. YHC saw Suede and Juice Box and heard Palin.
- Divebombers make more sense with bricks, per VG and Razzie.
- Lamb Chop has been doing some flight price shopping; you can get $100 round-trip flights to Denver right now, but it will set you back $1,000 to fly to Key West.
- We met at least 2 dog walkers on the north side of the bridge, both of whom quickly nudged their four-legged friends along away from us. Only one of them raised a leg near the H.O.G.
- Posthole resisted the offer of bricks for a good long time but eventually relented and accepted his gift. Later, he led the minor-mutiny of substituting side-lunges for squats saying, “We just did [180-degree jump] squats!” The H.O.G. fell in line with him.
- Someone noted that Root Canal would have been the “eleven” today. Glad to see he posted to OG/Tractors, although it seems wrong that Thistle isn’t here to run with him.
- Razzie cut it close, even for him. We were on the way away from the launch when he appeared; YHC had to unlock the Pilot to give him his bricks.
- $5 Footlong and Ziggy got some miles in, walked through the middle of ball of man on the trail and returned for CoT. It was great to see both.
- Cheesesteak advised that 180-degree jump squats are likely to lead to a back injury. As one, all pax immediately dropped their bricks.
- Snake Eyes and VG were negotiating HCs. VG offered to HC to Village Idiocy on Monday if SE was willing to HC to either SuperMax or IS tomorrow. Two studs going (verbally) toe to toe. The rest of us were panting for breath but enjoyed the duel. The outcome was inconclusive.
Always a pleasure and an honor to lead; thanks, Posthole, for the keys. YHC believes that one of the dogs took off with them.
