CSAUP Trivia and Tabata, no repeats

YHC spent the evening before cramming. Prepping for a weekday is different, heard it gets easier with experience.

Prepared pretty good trivia IMO then failed to set questions up properly early on, but we recovered.

Just started learning Tabata app(s) yesterday. The app ‘Tabata’ will not turn music down or off for Spotify. The app ‘Seconds’ will.

Warm-o-rama

Side Straddle Hop (~15), Abe Vigoda (~8), Whirly with a clap (~10?), Imperial Storm Troopers (somewhere between 6 and 24 depending on counting method), Hillbillies (~10), Arm swirly things forward (~10), Arm swirly things backward (~10), Seal Clap (~10), Overhead Clap (~10), Moroccan Night Club (~10)

We got blocks and came back to the starting position. Got the music and timer going.

Workout

Tabata, 45 seconds on, 30 seconds off. Every exercise on the list is different. Pass around the block that says burpees on it.

Trivia questions when it’s your turn with the block. Miss the question, we do burpees for the next round. Guess correctly, we keep going down the list.

We had a list of about 35 different exercises and we got through about 13-15 of them. Prepared 11 trivia questions. They resembled even odds questions, PAX got about 1/3 right. We did 7 or 8 rounds of burpees, with one or two back to back.

Exercises: overhead press, curls, shoulder tap, lbc, hand release merkin, american hammer, bear crawl (crawl bear out half the time, bear crawl back after halfway), squat, merkin, ww2, mountain climbers, freddie mercs (did we do those?), incline press, jane fondas side hip dip style. Somewhere between shoulder tap and hand release merkins, we added alabama prom dates.

Take blocks back with about 7-10 min to go and return.

Ring of fire. Explained in a previous backblast, everyone holds plank, go around the circle, pushups, started count down from 5, each person ends with 15 after all rounds and holds plank for everyone else.

The playlist was good (to me at least). We started Parliament with a song from Parliament.

When Me & Mrs Jones (Billy Paul) played, Schneider recommended we add an exercise appropriate to the mix. After a round of burpees we added those in (approximate location above)

The music and tabata and trivia kept us close together and allowed for lots of chatter.

The trivia was terrible according to huck. If by terrible he means awesome, then I understand!

Finally know how to count imperial storm troopers. After a shaky start and realizing after many posts I haven’t paid enough attention, got it now.

Subfloor’s trivia is on point. He knew the smallest country in the world. he was 1/1.

Bird phobias aren’t unusual. More people are uncomfortable with them than bees.

Barry Bonds is just ahead of Lou Gehrig on the all time RBI list by 1.

We were working with a list of the top 100 movies of all time at the beginning. Flubbed the early delivery on the trivia questions. Blame me for the misses and the first couple of rounds of burpees.
