YHC was talking to a friend about F3 Tuesday afternoon, and it was mentioned that F3 is “Not a Cult” during the conversation. This got YHC feeling a little nostalgic, so the old CULT working from Distillery was found. https://www.f3winstonsalem.com/f3/2020/01/f3-is-not-a-cult/

Then YHC thought about the old Mayhem launch point, and decided these two things could be combined!

 

And the result was fun, challenging if you wanted it to be, and perfectly timed!

 

Warm-o-rama

  • Mission Statement / Core Principles
  • SSH x 20 IC
  • IST x 15 IC
  • Shoulderama x 10 x 5 IC
  • Mosey to old AO launch point at Meadowlark elementary.

 

The Thang

  • Mosey to Entrance Rock pile
  • Grab a rock, carry to the playground
  • C-U-L-T (F3 is not a cult): 
    • Curls x 25, 20, 15, 10, 5 
    • Urkins (aka uneven irken) x 25, 20, 15, 10, 5 
    • Low Flutter x 25, 20, 15, 10, 5 
    • Thrusters x 25, 20, 15, 10, 5 
    • After each round Run a lap and do Pull-ups x 10 OYO
    • Repeato w/decreasing reps.
  • An extra 5 Urkins were added to even out the reps per side
  • A bonus 10 pull-ups were added after the 10 rep round, simply because time was running low and we were going to skip our last lap.

 

Mary

  • Zima les PAX back while YHC picked up the 6.
  • Upon arrival, PAX were doing burpees
  • American Hammers x 15 IC
  • The Thistle x 11 Merkins

  • YHC took us out giving thanks.

 

NMM

  • A great group of men, many of whom remember life before Jamison Park when Mayhem launched from Meadowlark.
  • The new traffic flow changes at the schools seemed simple, yet efficient… if only they’d finish the dang road!!
  • Spam HCed in the even that YHC would be absent, but he came any and stayed after seeing YHC arrive! It’s been a busy year for Spam, he started this might be his first weekday post of the year… was nice to catch up, and YHC knows he’ll be greatly missed within our group after his move to Florida…
  • Zima didn’t like my spelling of Irkin with a U, but little did he know it stood for Uneven Irkins (because we had one hand on our rock). He later suggested we could have done pull-UPs but that just makes too much sense.
  • Root Canal refused to do Cherry Pies during warmorama, thinking YHC was going to kill the PAX… that made me smile.
  • We all agreed that Thrusters suck.
  • YHC heard Workbench comment that he doesn’t know if he’s made for long distance running anymore… I disagree!
  • Spam doubted YHCs timing skills, but we got it all done!
  • Litterbox was given Kotters, and showed us that he has still got it. We talked about his travels last year and an upcoming trip this year to the West coast.
  • Two new pax, Adobe and Subfloor, enjoyed the CULT reference since they just went through the whole adjustment phase, learning about our abbreviations and nicknames. 
  • DQ admitted that was a sanely difficult workout at the end.
  • During the workout, we all took turns saying “ONE OF US” and joking about our cultish ways for not being a cult.

 

Thanks for the keys Workbench! An honor to lead, and a pleasure to be around such fine men. YHC left the keys at the old launch spot,
