The Thang

PAX all grabbed a block of their choosing and then lined up shoulder to shoulder near the awning.

  1. First PAX at the far end bear crawls to pile of wood blocks that are upside down a country mile away (on the other side of the parking lot). PAX chooses one block with an exercise written on the bottom.
  2. PAX returns with block by conducting forward lunges. Announces the next exercise to be conducted by all. Then he places the block in the bucket/bin.
  3. Next PAX advances with bear crawls……..rinse & repeat.
  4. Group exercises last as long as it takes the PAX to return to the group with the next exercise.

Exercises included: Alternating Side Squats, Bench Press, Bolt 45s, Boxcutter, Burpees, Calf Raise, Curtsy Lunge, Flutter Kicks, Forward Lunge, Hello Dolly, Rapid Step Ups, Rear Lunge, WWII Wojo Squats.

Mary

  1. PAX did flutter kicks in cadence until the Q got tired (which was 50 for the record).
  2. Ended with some stretching which was a big hit.

NMM

  • YHC had a plan that involved chalk but had to flex to plan B when the pavement was wet and there was a chance of rain during the beatdown.
  • No FNG but Q needed the practice at welcoming everyone and making them feel warm and loved so he recited everything on the F3 WS website that was above the fold. Everyone was most impressed or at least impressed by the attempt.  No corrections were noted.
  • All were pleased with the opportunity to seek cover under the awning when lying on the ground.  This TLC was appreciated until Mary was done on the wet ground in the middle of the parking lot.
  • Lovely turnout with eighteen PAX.  While it is a sample size of two, this is the largest crowd YHC has had the honor to lead in a beatdown to-date.
  • This Parliament VQ for Draftee was exciting, sweaty, and quick to leave enough time for the men’s breakfast at the ROCC.

 Announcements

  • All were invited to the men’s breakfast at the ROCC at 6:30.
  • Opportunity for a triple beat down this Saturday with the 1) Murph, 2) Alcatraz, 3) ROCC 5K fundraiser for PIVOT ministries.
