The Hill To Somewhere
QIC: Drama Queen

PAX: Rollback, Subfloor, Wahoo, Blind Date, Dr. Toot, Workbench, Drama Queen
The Meadowlark Rd widening project has lasted longer than the construction of the Panama Canal. With it finally complete along with the pathway/sidewalk/greenway that parallels it, YHC felt it was a reason to celebrate.
6 pax joined me – some a little later than others but all with bright shining faces ready to get some work done on a lovely spring morning.
We began with many of the standards for Warmorama. In honor of Cherry Pie, Dr. Toot performed burpees during both arm swirlies and Michael Phelps. We finished of course with Dry Dock Crabs with moderate success. Sorry that last week’s Q Bagpipe was not there as he has expressed his wrestling prowess.
We moved on to the rock pile to choose a friend who would accompany us on a journey. We began at the bottom of the trail up the oft used hill. First stop – 10 each OYO curls, squats, crunches with rock.
Then John Cusack to first curve. There we repeated first stop set of curls, squats, crunches and added 10 more OYO of overhead press, forward lunge, and WWIIs.
Next leg of the journey may have been the most memorable. Bear crawl with rock push up to the next curve. At this stop repeato of first two stops and add another 3 part set of bent over rows, reverse lunges, and American hammers.
Omaha for most for the next leg – original plan was to murder bunny but after the rock push and time was moving fast changed plan to lunge walk. Newly minted site Q Rollback (while wearing a weight vest) decided to prove his manliness and chose the murder bunny option. Other pax did not feel need to prove anything or murder any bunnies and lunge walked most of the way. YHC then threw a late curve ball and required murder bunnies on the last section of concrete to get to the Meadowlark pathway.
There we finished off the stacking of the triple set exercises by performing those from previous three stops and adding bus drivers, calf raises and low dollies with rocks held high.
We then knocked out some semblance of a 3 or 4 man grinder on the pathway. With one stop using rocks for alternating merkins and other stop doing monkey humpers.
Time is flying by so slowsey down the hill with stops at the curves. First stop – curls/squats/crunches. Second stop – overhead press, forward lunge, WWIIs. Third and final stop – bent over rows, reverse lunges, am hammers and bus drivers, calf raises, low dollies w/rock.
Rocks up and we’re done.
NMM
Rollback arrived before YHC and was setting up flag and already had weight vest on. Site Q crown is fitting him well
Rock picking instruction was to pick one that could be carried but large enough to get some work done. YHC should have added flattish is good too due to the upcoming bear crawl rock push
YHC was hoping for at least 6 pax for the planned 3 man grinder – we had 7 so instructions were a little vague – we accomplished something
The hill (fka The Hill to Nowhere) has been officially renamed as The Hill to Somewhere with the connection to the pathway and the lovely completed Meadowlark Rd.
Rumors of my weinke being pulled out in the dark were exaggerated as YHC remembered almost all of what was planned and what we didn’t do the pax will never know
There was a lovely orange crescent moon on the east horizon. After pax had not seen my weinke, they somehow wanted to see a full moon. Instead they learned YHC once wrote a short play about the Moon.
No rocks were harmed during this workout

FINAL THOUGHTS
Mayhem is where YHC first attended F3 over 10 years ago at the invitation of BAM. It’s been interesting to see the changes in launch sites, where and how we explore the AO, all the pax that have come and gone and the memories of many workouts in all kinds of weather. Get back out if you haven’t been or reach out to someone you haven’t seen in a while. This thing is kinda special and it is part of who I am. Hopefully it means that much to you too.
