The waitress wants to know what a merkin is.

QIC: Wobegon

Date: 2-27-2025

PAX: Zima, Frosbite (WB), Lambchop, Rollback, Wobegon (WD, QIC)

The Q jogged up from his epic 6-minute RIRO to find the pax ready and assembled. Brief warm-o-rama, and we head to the routine:

Station 1: 10 LBCS, 10 Penguins, 5 crunchy frogs

Circle by trailhead

Station 2: 10 Shoulder Taps, 10 mountain climbers, 5 Dry Docks

Bridge by Connector Trail

Mosey the trail, 5 dips at each bench you see.

Station 3: 10 merkins, 10 mike tysons, 5 diamond merkins

Other end of Connector Trail

Mosey the trail back, 5 dips at each bench you see.

Station 4: 10 left leg lunges, 10 rights, 5 squats

Lower parking area

We kept the circuit and mumble chatter going right until 0615.

COT: Q School Saturday. Coffee With The Runs is Sunday at Tanglewood Park.

Prayers for Lambchop’s wife, aging grandparents, and ongoing life changes.

NMM:

  • It was mixed company on the connector with FIA and non-FIA runners lighting hp the gloom with their headlamps, which made the partner assisted dip (thankfully only once despite one pax requesting “now you do me”), conversation about merkins, Idaho 8s, and the whip cream bikini science from Varsity Blues ill-advised but still entertaining.
  • Frosty (aka Italian Ice) has not lost a step during his globetrotting, always an honor to have the ‘tan there to keep us in line.
  • Lambchop (aka Belk) kept the conversation going and put in the work, even though there was no challenge to meet or others to beat. Tune in for his upcoming TV commercial debut as well.
  • Zima (aka The Story Teller) did Zima stuff and kindly slowed his normal pace to stick with us and we were glad for it, he has tales to tell and they are all good. Some poor waitress in Idaho is still wondering what a merkin is. We hope. Hash-Tag-Don’t-Google-It.
  • Rollback (aka Captain Burpee) may have been disappointed with the lack of his favorite exercise today, but he hid it well, only once calling out the Q (“Is this a ten count or what?” as YHC was slow to call the next exercise…tough but fair).

It was an excellent way to start the day, thanks to Dr. Tool for letting me take the keys for the day. They are under the second bench on the Connector trail.
