What a difference a week makes. On 11 October 2017, YHC posted at Bells-n-Whistles, where the PAX contended with July-like temperatures and humidity. This morning, 13 PAX encountered a brisk Fall morning with temperatures in the low 40s.
It was YHC’s maiden Q at Bells-n-Whistles. YHC was not about to put up with, or inflict, any crappy music. #Tuco expressed exactly what YHC was thinking: that it would be a “no Rush, none of the time” playlist. Phil Collins also was not “In the Air Tonight.” Instead, YHC decided to entertain the PAX with a selection of his favorite 1960s-1970s country music songs.
The PAX assembled around the flagpole area, where the morning went like this:
WARMARAMA:
- SSHs: IC x 12
- ISTs: IC x 12
- Arm Swirly Things (Fwd): IC x 12
- Arm Swirly Things (Bckwd): IC x 12
- Seal Claps: IC x 12
- Standing hamstring stretches: 10 count each leg
- Whirlies with a Social Disease: IC x 10
- Abe Vigodas: IC x 10
THE THANG:
The PAX paired off. While Partner 1 ran around the circular driveway surrounding the flagpole (about 1/5 of a mile by YHC’s estimation), Partner 2 performed each successive kettlebell lift/exercise on the list until Partner 1 returned, at which time the partners flapjacked. The exercise list was as follows:
- Curls – Left arm
- Curls – Right arm
- Irkins
- Kettlebell Swings
- Goblet Squats
- Upright Rows
- Skull Crushers
- Steph Currys
- Derkins
- Elbow Plank
- Bent Over Row – Left arm
- Bent Over Row – Right arm
Most PAX were at this point when time expired. Thus, most PAX sprinted, ran, jogged or otherwise locomoted approximately 2.5 miles (with many of the PAX having already completed EC runs before posting).
MARY:
- American Hammers: IC x 20
- Elbow Plank until 0615 hours
COT:
- 11/19 Beer Run – Location to be announced
- Deadline to order DashPax F3 gear is this weekend
- Be on the lookout for more information about the MEGA in G’boro later this month
- Zuckerberg took us out in style, thanking our Lord for the morning, for the privilege and ability to exercise and bond together, and for both the opportunity and obligation to be better husbands, fathers, sons and co-workers and to help bring good into the world.
- Welcome to #Harm (former FNG Phil Jones)! A friend of #Sassy’s, #Harm is currently a 3L at Wake Forest University School of Law. He is married and has one child. Previously, he was a Baritone Bugler in the Marine Corps, capable of killing the enemy with one shot and then immediately playing a requiem for him. After graduating from Law School and passing the Bar Exam, Harm will become a Navy JAG, capable of handling the truth no matter who gives it to him.
NMM:
- #Kapow comes by his speed naturally, as his dad #BAM was killing it out there on the run this morning. YHC also got a kick out of #BAM knowing the words to Charlie Daniels’ Uneasy Rider by heart, singing along as he exercised.
It was an honor and pleasure to lead this morning, gentlemen. I am a better man because of all of you.
Very respectfully,
SGT Schultz

Sassy
While I started the conversation with Harm, Poncho deserves the credit for closing the deal. As Poncho told me, “you have to go finish the job!” I had Harm ready to go, but I think Poncho gave him that added “umph” to ensure he’d be out there in the gloom.
Great Q, Sgt! It was a solid beatdown. Thanks to all of the PAX for the push!
Poncho
Sassy – ABC- always be closing…… or EH someone at a winery with a few classes and distracted by their kid. #neverhadachance
Burlap
T-claps to Sassy and Poncho and welcome Harm!
BAM
Nothing fancy about this beatdown, but wore myself out.
When Zuck is your partner, running slow isn’t an option. Unlike Zuck, not much left in tank for bell portion.
Fun tunes for sure. Good stuff. “Had them stepping like their heads were on fire and their a$$es were catchin’“ #poetry
Zuckerberg
Fun tunes (felt like I needed to put my trucker hat on and put a dip in afterwards), and great beatdown!
And I cannot take credit for your swiftness, @BAM. You were friggin’ flying out there this morning – period! Great job “pardner”!

That song is indeed a classic.
“I’m a faithful of brother John Birch and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church, and I ain’t even got a garage, you can call and ask my wife.”
Listening to you sing it out loud as you were doing Merkins made me smile.

Hate to have missed the tunes – the workout not so much. Hadn’t heard about ol green teeth in a while #classic. Shoulda known BAM would know the words. Look forward to this playlist again when YHC can accompany BAM and any others with a little red on their neck
