In the course of the past couple of weeks, YHC engaged in some good natured MC with site Q Geppetto about moving the location of Urban Assault.  As the plan for today’s beatdown came together, YHC was confident that Bailey Park would fit the bill.

When YHC parked and walked over to call the Pax to order, it was clear that Geppetto made the right call.  Bailey Park is the perfect AO location.

Pax were everywhere, and kept coming.  All told, 15 Pax, including YHC and and FNG circled up for the following.

Warm-o-rama

Full disclaimer was given.  Twice actually, as the FNG was a few minutes late.  More on him later.

Exercises were the usual fare:  SSH, Abe Vigoeda, Squats, Mountain climbers, alternating shoulder taps.  All IC, all x 15.

THE THANG

Mosey to corner of 4th and Patterson.  Explained to Pax that we would perform called exercise at each corner, as we moseyed up Patterson until we reached 8th Street (MLK).  Patterson would be all about arms.   Exercises performed on Patterson were:  Arm swirly things forward, arm swirly things reverse, Overhead claps, Seal claps, and Jack Reachers. All x 15, IC

Once at 8th street, mosey to front of Arts Based School. Time for legs.  On the way down Chestnut, we performed:  Copperhead squats, R leg lunges, L leg lunges, Squats, Sumo Squats.  all x 15, IC

Once at 4th street, mosey to Liberty Street.  Core work on Liberty as we headed along:  LBCs, WWII, dying cochroach, heals to heaven.  all x 15, IC

Next street, time for merkins, again one exercise at each corner:  regular, wide, carolina dry docks and Chuck Norris.  all x 15, all IC

Mosey along 5th street back to Bailey Park.

Mary:  usual stuff until time was called!

Total distance covered:  2.2 miles.  Nice.

Sooo, a young, fast group this morning.  Cobains on always having to wait for the Q.  always the 6!!

Highlight of the day was at the corner of 7th and Chestnut.  As we were performing the exercises IC, a woman yelled out the window of her apartment.  She was not pleased.  I believe she kindly requested that we shut up.  It was received as one would expect.  YHC is sure she had a great story to tell her friends today.

Pax learned that there are many trucks driving around downtown at that hour.  Also learned that the trucks were louder than the Pax.

FNG – Bryson is another doctor….nickname was derived from his dislike of country music.  WELCOME.
