YHC put on his big boy tights and committed to run the OG route, so was able to hand off my laminated Tractor route card to Skillet who promptly used it to miss the first turn up the Intimidator, or maybe he was just building momentum. Resistor delighted that we took a warm up lap around the park before hitting first street, though some noted (accurately) that this was the easy way out for YHC to get the distance without totally reworking the downtown section. The group I was in begin to spread out with VanPelt taking the lead and YHC making sure that he could see everyone else in the interest of their safety. Traffic and stop lights gathered us up and spread us out. Glazer was slowed by some chick in a car who tried to solicit him, or perhaps get directions, either way he seemed to accommodate. Turn by turn we made our way, even finding that a ramp was available to enter the Long Branch Trail, so the stairs that scared off Beuller? were avoided. T-claps to the ruckers who introduced me to Long Branch, it is a fun place to run. We persevered up Ram’s Drive, Salem and Cemetery before rolling down Brookstown, then one final push up hill before cresting on Fourth, then it was, literally all downhill. Miracle of all miracles, the Q was not tarred and feathered, apparently final route changes allowed all runners to get home without crossing the Business 40 work zone!
Announcements: VanPelt is acting as Exploratory Committee for the Get Outside Mountain Relay (GOMR,) late May early June, camping, meat and beer involved, but no vans!
Zuckerberg noted opportunities to serve at over night missions such as 1st Presbyterian Overflow shelter.
Prayer requests: Cobra’s neighbor Cindy, whose husband recently killed himself. For any PAX struggling with depression. For Choper’s daughter traveling to Africa. For our government.YHC took us out with prayer.
