The celebration of Groundhog Day on February 2nd derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog comes out of his burrow and does not see his shadow, there will be an early spring. If he does see his shadow he will retreat into his den and there will be 6 more weeks of winter. No such retreat for the 15 PAX who showed up for today’s edition of Purgatory.

The largest celebration of Groundhog Day takes place in the western Pennsylvania town of Punxsutawney where the legendary groundhog Phil determines the outcome regarding how much winter remains.

To celebrate this occasion, PAX divided into teams for 3 Man Grinder with PAX running back and forth between the end of building and the flagpole:

YHC took the group out giving thanks for the day and lifting up those in need.

– Astute observation by PAX early on that YHC had brought cardboard, not a good sign of things to come
– The Q was called out by the PAX early on for lightning speed cadence during Abe Vigodas
– A lot of emphasis on “11” during cadences this morning. This was lost on YHC.
– A lot of hard work during Punxsutawney Phil grinder – appreciate the partner work with Burlap and Ink Spot
